Tribute
LeSage, Shirley Jean (nee Barrie) passed away suddenly on May 17 th. 2009 after a brief illness in the Cowichan Regional District Hospital. Shirley will be greatly missed but never forgotten. Shirley is survived by her husband of 52 years, Edward, her son Stephen and her daughter Andrea-Lynn. Shirley is pre – deceased by her father, Ronald Barrie, and survived by her mother, Lola Barrie and her sister Gayle Barks (Bob). Shirley was a special grand mother to Emma (Margie) and a special aunt to so many nieces and nephews. She was highly honoured and recognized for her outstanding community work and a recipient of the Air Canada “Heart of Gold” award.
A celebration of life will be held in the summer. In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of your choice will be greatly appreciated. Online condolences may be offered at www.hwwallacecbc.com.

Shirley’s painting of the tulips that we aquired on our last visit, occupies a prominent place in our home and will always be cherished.

Ann and I were fortunate enough to meet Shirley in Montreal in 1967, Even though we have had little contact over the years we both have fond memories of any time we were able to spend in her company. She was the kind of person once you met Shirley you never forgot her.
