Kathleen Wilkinson

July 15, 1951 - April 28, 2021

Tribute

It is with great sadness that the family of Kathleen Elizabeth Wilkinson announce her passing on April 28, 2021 at her home surrounded by family.

Kathy was born in Edmonton, Alberta on July 15, 1951 to the late Clifford and Nora Wilkinson.  Her family moved to Victoria, BC when she was a little girl.

After graduation Kathy began a 30 year career with the Federal Government before retiring in Crofton, BC to enjoy her passion for gardening, knitting, reading and her beloved doll collection. It was not uncommon for Kathy to be the last one in the door when coming to visit, you would find her in your garden pulling a weed or two and adding her touch.

Kathy will be lovingly remembered by her spouse of 21 years, Peter Thorpe, her sons, Chris Sheppard (Robin), Mike Sheppard, Jason Sheppard (Dawn), her grandchildren, Brianna, Mackenzie, Keanna, Brayden, Isabelle, Rebecca, Brittany, Justin.

She will also be fondly remembered by Peter’s children and grandchildren, Stephen Thorpe, Wanda  Maassen, Devin, Brandon and Angela.

Kathy is survived by her sister, Carol Robinson ( Keith) and her brother Gerry Keeler as well as her nieces and nephews.

Kathy’s family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. D. Welch, Dr. J. Eberhard, Dr. V. Masuda, and the staff at Cowichan Hospice and Island Health for their care and compassion.

The family will hold a Celebration of Life at a later date.

Memorial donations may be made to S.A.I.N.T.S (Senior Animals in Need Today Society) or a charity of your choice.

My sincere condolences to Kathy and Peter’s family. I have known Kathy for many years while working at WHI. She was always there to answer questions in a friendly way. She spoke freely on her gardening interests and I will always remember her love for Wisteria plants. She will be missed
