Terry Mckay

June 10, 1954 - January 6, 2017

Tribute

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Terry Bruce Mckay at the Cowichan District Hospital. His last day was spent peacefully with family by his side. Terry is survived by his loving wife Rachel, daughters Ashley (Ofir) and Paige (Daryl), step-sons Jordan (Keely) and Mitchell (Randi), and grandchildren Baby Faye and Jaxyn. He will also be missed by his faithful dog, Bailey.

Terry spent his working career in sales which led him to a business manager position, which he thoroughly enjoyed. Terry also enjoyed his time on the houseboat at Lake Cowichan surrounded by his family and friends. We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Dr. G. Robinson, Dr. V. Masuda, the nurses in the Emergency Ambulatory Care and 3rd floor Palliative Care Units. Especially nurse Sue on the 3rd floor.

No service will be held at Terry’s request. A celebration will follow at a later date in the sunshine. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Palliative Care Unit at the Cowichan District Hospital and the Cowichan Valley Hospice Society.

Terry we love you so much and will remember you forever.

Rachel and family. Words cannot convey how we feel over your loss of a very warm, funny and loving man in your lives. We both loved Terry from the minute we first met many years ago. We were so happy when we learned you were together as a couple, and what a loving, supportive couple you were. I will remember his hugs forever, and the smell of his cologne on me for hours afterward. He was a very special human being and will be greatly missed. Hugs and love to you all.

Dear Rachael; Jack and I just learned that your dear Terry passed away Jan 6th; we r so sorry for your deep loss. We stopped in at Hyundai to see him and you can imagine our disbelief when Jeff told us. Last time we seen Terry he was optimistic about his liver being better, and he looked great and was so positive. He spoke of you so often and you were his rock and his inspiration. We first met him at Bow Mel and he took a chance on us as we were starting over again and we followed him wherever he went over the past 13 years. We will miss him. Jack and he were kindred spirits and had so much in common. Our thoughts and prayers are with u and your loved ones. In sympathy. Jack and Sandi Sheridan💐

Rachel I have only just learned of Terry’s passing and, even though I knew he was struggling, I am still shocked. I send you so much love and wishes for your strength in the times to come. I, too, have been through this loss and if you ever need me, please don’t ever hesitate to call. I am in California until the beginning of April but I will call you when I get home!! Please know I am thinking of you and your family very much!
