Ronald James Reeves

August 1, 1940 - February 15, 2022

Tribute

Regretfully, Ron passed away on February 15 at Cowichan Lodge.  He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Leonie Reeves.  Survived by his wife Louanne, his sister Janice (Anthony and Michelle & Rob, Cleo, Abbey and Odin).

Ron started his career with the Forest Service in 1961 as Survey Asst. in Victoria.  From there he worked as Assistant Ranger in Ranger Districts throughout the Vancouver Forest District.  From 1967-68, Ron attended the Advanced Class at the F.S Training School.  Upon graduating, he worked as Deputy Ranger in Harrison Hot Springs and Sayward.  In 1971, Ron accepted the position of Forestry Operations Supervisor in Vancouver.  In 1974, Ron became Ranger in Alexis Creek in the newly formed Cariboo Forest Region.

Ron was Ranger in Alexis Creek for 5 years and in 1979, he was named the District Manager of the Chilcotin Forest District.  For 14 years, he managed the Chilcotin Forest District before returning to the Vancouver Region, accepting the District Manager’s position in Duncan.

After more than 34 years with the Ministry of Forests, Ron retired in 1995.

Many thanks to the staff at Cowichan Lodge, especially Roxie and Laurie who were so supportive. Sheila, Gail, and Ronda welcomed me into Cowichan Lodge. Special thanks to Harry & Rick for all their support before and after Ron’s passing.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice.
