Robert Albert Bennie

Tribute
Bob was born in Cumberland, BC on February 14th, 1929. He lived in Cumberland, Merville,
and Duncan until he passed away on September 6th, 2023, at Cerwydden Care in Duncan BC.
Bob married Phyllis Willson on July 6th, 1951. They had 3 children, 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Bob worked in the logging industry until retirement. He also spent many joyful hours working in his yard.
Together Bob and Phyllis enjoyed time at the cabin on Comox Lake, RV trips to Parksville, Quadra Island, trips to England, Scotland, Europe, Reno, and Disneyland.
Bob is survived by daughter Cathy (Reg) Strong, son Doug (Joan) Bennie, grandchildren Larry, Brenda, Heather, Leah, and Ian, 11 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Also survived by his brother in law Tom (Brenda) Willson, nieces and nephews.
Pre-deceased by his wife Phyllis, parents James and Emily, brother Jim, daughter Marg Strang, grandson Bob Strang as well as many aunts and uncles.
Bob was an amazing husband, father, and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all his family. Bob is together again with Phyllis.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the nurses and staff at Cerwydden Care. A huge thank you to Dr. Rimmer.

Relation: Long time neighbors
Blessings to all of you. May you all be surrounded by the love and prayers of those who loved your Dad, Father in law and Grandpa. I was blessed to be a neighbor. Our family and children were welcomed to your home by both Phyllis and Bob. So much kindness and help especially while my parents were aging. Will always remember Bob and his smile. So many memories. Praying you will remember all the wonderful times you all have shared. Hugs from all of my family.
