Muriel Caroline Fisher

February 14, 1918 - March 10, 2018

Tribute

Muriel was predeceased by her husband Ernest Fisher, son Mike Fisher and grandson Michael Fisher. She is survived by her daughter Penny Fisher Baker (Mike) and son Paul Fisher (Ann) and her grandchildren Shannon Kinvig (David), Jeff Baker (Michelle) Luke Baker (Jennifer) Becky Garneau (George) Jacqueline Fisher -Hallanjaku (Arian), Scott Fisher, Greg Fisher, nephew Stuart Gibson and 11 great grandchildren.

Muriel was born Feb. 14,1918 in Scotland but grew up in London England. She married Ernest in 1941 and after serving in WW2 as a WAF she immigrated to Victoria in 1948.

Muriel loved life, having fun, and loved her family and friends.  She enjoyed watching Figure Skating, Tennis and Curling. She also loved her G&T’s, might be the secret to her longevity!  She will be missed by so many people.

A big thank you to Dr. Tom Rimmer in Duncan for taking such wonderful care of Muriel. And to the staff at Ts’i’ts’uwatul’ Lelum Assisted Living in Duncan for making her last 2 years a happy time.

Muriel enjoyed her own celebration of life at her 100th birthday party Feb 11, 2018, where she was surrounded by many friends and family who shared many laughs.

There will be a small family gathering in the summer.

You are up in heaven now and looking over us. ‘Love you lots’

Dear Mrs. Fisher, I never had the pleasure of meeting you but you sure did a wonderful job raising Penny & Paul. I worked with Paul & Anne in Ice Follies. Penny & Mike have become part of our family. Not many people make it to 100. Congratulations. Now you are with the angels & my husband George.

Paul and Penny
My condolences on the passing of your Mum.
You probably don’t remember but I’m your old backyard neighbor on Falkland rd.
Your mum was a neat lady and my mum and dad always enjoyed their chats.
Hope all is well with your families.

From: Marilyn Gibson
Relation: Neice by marriage

Thinking of you all – she was a very special lady. As I never had an aunt or uncle of my own Uncle Ernest and Auntie Muriel were very special to me and I will always remember them. I have a few extra special memories but New Year 1973-74 will always be remembered – especially when I eat cabbage rolls. Both Ernest and Muriel were very kind when my parents visited and they all had fun times together – but – as A Muriel would say “see you later’
