Monika Brigette Piercy (Werner)

February 24, 1948 - February 6, 2015

Tribute

Born in Heidelberg Germany and moved to Duncan with her parents in 1951 where she lived most of her life. After a year long battle with cancer, Monika peacefully passed away at home. She is survived by her children Lisa, Russell (Tina), Nikki (Marty), grandchildren Kelsey, Kisandra, Emma, Lynnea and Brayden, father Wolf Werner, brother Andy and former husband Ken Piercy (Trish). Predeceased by her mother Inge and brother Chris.  For 25 years Monika worked at Thrifty’s head office in Victoria where she was valued and respected as a colleague and friend. She loved baking, crafts, “garage saleing” and was very involved with her family. The ways in which she touched so many lives is immeasurable. She always believed in those around her and welcomed others into her home. She taught us many life lessons while showing us joy and happiness in the simple things of life. In life challenges and greatest accomplishments her words of encouragement and love helped lead us to our goals. We will never forget all that she has done for us. Thank you Mom for everything… we will love you forever and always.  A Celebration of Life will be held on March 7th from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Best Western Cowichan Valley Inn, 6474 Trans-Canada Hwy, Duncan, BC
