Margaret Ann Malfait – January 14, 1941
My final job was to write my own OBIT, so if you are reading this you know that I have passed away, peacefully surrounded by my closest family and friends.
Predeceased by husband Larry 2009; Father Tom Cochrane 1980 & Mother Florence Cochrane 1982 Chemainus; Uncle Steve Evans 2001; Grandfather Frank Evans 1977 & Grandmother Emma Evans 1982 Nanaimo (pioneer Evans of Duncan); Sisters, Aunts, Uncles & Cousins.
Survived by daughter Belinda (Sean) Lee Victoria; son Bruce (Cindy & granddaughter Megan) Malfait Harrison Hot Springs; Aunty Gladys Cochrane & Cousin Bryan Cochrane Chemainus; Aunty Margaret Cowans Port Alberni; Best Friend for 46 years Marie Hunt and family Victoria.
Special thank you to everyone at Rowan Properties Management for which I worked for 16 years as the manager of Sharron Apts, for all their support and help through the trying times and to all my friends and tenants for the flowers, cards and help they have given me.
I would like to thank the Home Community Support staff and nurses for the excellent care given to me.
To the nurses, staff and doctors at Victoria General Hospital, 7th floor surgical ward with an exceptional appreciation to Dr. Kelly who helped me through my first week there, you were my angels from heaven and to my monkey nurse please watch over the monkeys for me.
Dr. Harris and Dr. Janine Burger (who has been my doctor for just a short time) thank you.
An exceptional thank you to Harold of Harold Wallace Funeral Home who helped me and my family deal with Larry’s demise and now helping my children through mine, it is so appreciated.
Belinda, Sean, Bruce, Cindy, Megan, sister Diana, brother-in-law Bob, niece Tina with out your help I would not have made it this far.
A family celebration of life has taken place (and I was not even there to have a drink) with cremation and internment in the family plot in Chemainus where I will be reunited with Larry (Remember Bruce above or below him not on TOP!)
My daddy came and sat on my bed and told me that it is time for me to come home, so I am going to go now with buddy in my arms for tea or maybe a cooler, and then inform everyone in detail what has been going on.
