Tribute
Linda Avram, beloved wife, mother, sister and grandmother, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2022 at the age of 80, surrounded by loved-ones.
Linda was born in Saskatoon Saskatchewan on March 30, 1942, to Margie and Ralph Moyer. While her parents divorced shortly after her birth, Margie married “Chuck” (Leon Carl) Halina, who raised Linda as his daughter. Linda’s early life was spent in Saskatoon playing sports, hanging out with her friends and family and spending time listening to music and going to dances. An avid music lover, she met and married Steve Avram in 1961, a musician who filled her life with music and love. They recently celebrated their 6oth wedding anniversary on Aug 12, 2021
Linda spent her working life in the public service and retired in 1996 after 25 years. She was very talented and creative with her numerous knitting, crocheting and fur –crafted teddy bears and loved to gift them to others. She loved to travel and truly enjoyed the family/ friend gatherings which always included amazing food! She was a loved and valued member of her church community, always eager to donate her time and creativity in the service of others. She also dedicated many years of service to others in the AL anon program. Linda will be remembered for her humour, vivacity, strength, and unwavering kindness. She had a deep faith in God and had the hope of life eternal with her savior, Jesus.
She is survived by her husband Steve, her siblings, Ron Halina, Susan Chappell (and spouse Brent) and Karen Halina, her daughters and their spouses, Cheryl (Will) Chaster, Shelly Avram (Doug Lester), Jody Avram, and Darcy (Les) Patterson, her grandchildren and their spouses, Steven Patterson, Selina Wall, Michael (Shanyn) Patterson, Meghan Chaster, Cole Baines, Ashleigh (Hillis) Halbert, and Adam Patterson, as well as her great-grandson Hunter Halbert and great-granddaughter Saskia Patterson.
Her Celebration of life will take place this Saturday June 18, 2022 at 1 pm at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church 531 Herbert St Duncan BC.

Linda was my best friend. What caught my eye was her wonderful smile. There was never a harsh word between us . . . just lots of fun, caring and sharing thoughts. Linda filled her 80th birthday with those same smiles. She was blessed with a wonderful family and my heart goes out to them. Jesus has received a beautiful lady.

So sorry to hear about your mum and beloved wife.
I would have liked to come to the memorial but the lingering effects of a covid exposure include sniffles and coughs and sneezes and such. Sniffles at a memorial I might have gotten away with but the rest just seemed all wrong.
I recall when we moved to Cowichan in the 70s. We were encamped temporarily on the Malahat. I remember I was lonely, having left all that I knew back in Regina and knowing no one except two annoying sisters. You visited us and helped set a welcoming tone followed by many wonderful musical memories over the years.
I would like to be able to see you all again.
With love,
Paul Warren and Family
