BARKLEY: Kathryn Anne – Passed away peacefully at the Cowichan District Hospital with her family by her side on Thursday June 10, 2010. Born in Alberta on December 10, 1942. Predeceased by her husband Douglas (2005), still born daughter (1965), parents Robert and Doris McLarty, brother Wayne and son in law John O’Brien. Lovingly remembered by her family; daughters Bev and Vicky, son in law Mat, grandchildren; Mark (Lauren), Melissa (Greg), Robin, Jolene, Shawna, Carrie (Wayne) and Kelly (Lynette); great grandchildren; Ryan, Liam, Myah, Alannah, Amber and Tara; sister Karen and her children Vanessa and Bill; as well as numerous other family, friends and her faithful companion Misty.
Kathryn loved watching sports particularly her Blue Jays and the Vancouver Canucks. She always had a deep love for her grand children and great grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew her.
The family wishes to thank the home support workers, hospice society particularly Judith, and the girls from the Chemo Clinic for all the care and compassion toward Kathy.
A Celebration of her life will be held in the Oasis Church on Riverbottom Road on Saturday June 19, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. Followed by a reception in the church. Online condolences may be offered at www.hwwallacecbc.com

My deepest sympathy on Kathryn’s passing. I enjoyed reconnecting with Kathryn a few years ago. Her home seemed a home to all – comfortable and filled with love and grandchildren.
Karen – my thoughts are with you especially. Losing a sibling is tough; they have that special bond that stretches from childhood to the present. May your memories and your family help fill the void left by the loss of both Wayne and now Kathryn.
