Joanna was my poetry mentor for over 15 years, still is, and a thoughtful supportive friend. May you Robert, your sons Andrew, Jon, Mark, daughters-in-law, Julie, Sherri, Cathy, and the grandchildren EJ, Kennedy, and Luke find the comfort and strength needed. Words are inadequate at a time like this. I extend hugs to you In friendship and in love. Joanna, hugs to you, too…you are missed.

I am glad Joanna & I got to meet in Ortawa face to face when we did. She was inspiring in her ability to sell her books anywhere.

Knowing Joanna has been an honor. I love her wit, her humor, her generosity. May you, her family, find peace, with time.
Thank you, Joanna, for being a part of my life. You are missed.

I didn’t know Joanna for very long, but she was a part of my writing group and gave me valuable insight and inspiration as I started to write more seriously. I wish her family and friends the best.

Relation: We both belonged to the Internet Writing Workshop.
Joanna was a wonderful friend who wrote beautiful poetry and haiku that could move me to tears. She was always kind with comments about my columns. I’ll miss her insight, her skill with words, and her judgment. I’m privileged to have known her from afar.
From: Wayne Scheer
Relation: Member of her writing group.
Walk in the woods. Joanna is still creating haiku for us to enjoy.

Hearing of Joanna’s passing was so sad. Although we seldom saw each other after I moved from Shawnigan I was so happy that Joanna was my friend. And such a delight to begin every Wednesday morning finding one of her poems in my email!
Sincere condolences.
