Tribute

Jean was born in Entwhistle Alberta, at a young age moved with her family to Lake Cowichan where she resided for the rest of her life.  Married Sam Brown in April 1947 and had four children. While in Lake Cowichan she spent many years in public service, as chairman of the school board, elected town counselor and Mayor for three years. Jean won several awards and worked with Dorothy Clode and Sam Beldessi to build the Seniors Evergreen Housing Complex.

Sincere appreciation to Dr. Kerswell, Dr. Pewarchuk, Dr. Wilhem, Dr. Masuda, the nurses at VIHA, as well as the homecare workers who tried to make her last days comfortable.

Mom, you will always be on our minds and in our hearts forever.

Love you so much; George Brown, Kerry (Joy) Brown, Barb (Jim) Main, Cathy (Roger) Ford and grandson Nathan.

Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday March 03, 2018 at 3:30 pm at HW Wallace Cremation and Burial Centre, 5285 Polkey Road, Duncan, BC.

Jean was such a community person. We first met her through the formation of the Eco Museum in the 80’s and admired her thoroughly. Her wit and insight and her smile made a lasting impression. You must be very proud to be members of Jeans family. Our condolences to you.
