Hedwig (Hedy) Maria Gammon (Siefert)
November 13, 1920 - December 24, 2014
Tribute
Born and raised in Frankenstein/ Schlesien, Germany. Passed away peacefully at the age of 94 at Cowichan District Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband Robert (Bob) Gammon, parents Wilhelm Bauch and Maria Bauch (Siefert) sister Magdelaina, brothers, Gerhard and Wilhelm of Germany. She leaves behind son Nicholas (Rose), and beloved grandson Thorin and nephew Hans Peter Bauch of Germany She will be sadly missed by “her guys” Andrew Wright and Joshua Sandford and her very special friend, companion and caregiver Joan Wright (Gerard). In 1945 Hedy immigrated to Wales where she met and married Bob in 1949. The family came to Canada in 1957 and settled in London, Ontario before eventually moving to the Cowichan Valley. She worked for many years at Cowichan Home Support before retiring. Hedy will be missed by her many friends and neighbours. We are very grateful for to Dr. Roy Gilbert and the staff of Cowichan District Hospital for their care and support. At her request there will be no service and flowers are gratefully declined. Those who wish to do so may make a donation to the charity of their choice.

Relation: Wed. evening Scripture Study
Hedy was a good friend and an enthusiastic part of St. Peter’s Wed. evening Scripture Study group while she was able to attend. We enjoyed her bright-eyed characteristic ability to help those in need. She was very hospitable and she delighted in her gardening. We missed her participation when her pain made it impossible for her to continue taking part. Her many good qualities have remained in our minds and hearts.
