Doris Albertha Willson

Tribute
Doris left us after a long struggle with dementia.
She leaves behind her loving husband of 76 years, Gerald Willson, her children Diane Steinmeier (Wilf), Lyle Willson (Wendy), and Marlene Hill (Steve); along with grandchildren Barbara Jaggernath (Charlie), Sheila Sutherland, Stacey Handlen, Lori Willson (Denis), and Candice Feeney (John); as well as many great and great-great grandchildren.
She was born Doris Hynes in Parson BC, a member of a pioneer family of the area. She moved to Vancouver Island in her late teens where she spent most of her adult life in Sidney, Victoria, Sooke Lake Cowichan and the Duncan area.
She had the distinction of being one of the first employees of BC Ferries where she started off as their one and only office staff and retired as the revenue department supervisor more than 20 years later.
After her move to the Cowichan Valley in the early 80’s she started her second career in real estate. Doris was a talented painter and a published poet, and she loved gardening.
She will be missed by everyone that new her.
