Diane Jacqueline Hodgins

November 26, 1944 - June 7, 2021

Tribute

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother Diane Jacqueline Hodgins.

Diane is predeceased by parents Ferdinand (Fred) and Lily Bergstrom, brothers Ivan, Lawrence, Clifford and Rodney, sisters Fern, Elvern and Marlene.

She is survived by husband Mike, sisters Jeanine and Susan, children Lonna Olender (Brad), Lynda Gibson (Robin), Patrick (Christina) and Bradley (Shelly), eight grandchildren, Kyla, Ashley, Stephanie, Danny (Teela), Brittany, Sophia, Nathan and Peyten, six great grandchildren Hunter, Ryder, Elena, Brody, London and Mattie.

Diane was born in Stump Lake Saskatchewan, moving to Vancouver Island at the age of ten. With her parents and siblings they lived at Old Hillcrest (Payne Rd), before moving to Lake Cowichan.                                                                                                                                                                                                           She met her husband Mike in 1968, and they were married in 1970. They lived in Honeymoon Bay, Caycuse, Lake Cowichan and for the past 43 years in Duncan.

Diane was an accomplished, self taught, guitar player and singer, entertaining at various functions including at Cairnsmore Place, for the elderly. She loved to play and sing, and if asked to play, she would, any time, day or night.

Diane had a unique ability to be able to relate to all, young, old, male or female. Anyone who met her would feel they had known her for years.  A great communicator who could be firm when need be.

As a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she will be greatly missed.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Special thanks to the Doctors and staff at Cowichan District Hospital, and the entire Staff at Cairnsmore Place.
