Daniel (Danny) Warwaruk

November 10, 1944 - September 1, 2022

Tribute

Daniel (Danny) Marvin Warwaruk peacefully passed away at the age of 77 on September 1, 2022, while in the comfort of Acacia Ty Mawr care home, in Shawinigan Lake, BC. He leaves behind the love of his life, his wife of 52 years, Jan (Patricia) Warwaruk; their children, Scott Warwaruk (Kim), Shauna Tait (Kris), Robyn Warwaruk Rogers (Mark); and his granddaughters Samara, Evangeline, and Lilyanna Rogers, and Layla and Marley Tait.

Danny was born on November 10, 1944, in Winnipegosis, MB to Peter and Helen Warwaruk. He grew up in a large, loving Ukrainian family with 2 brothers (Paul and Michael) and one sister (Florence). He enjoyed hard work growing up on the farm and developed a strong work ethic which he leveraged  throughout his career. Danny was passionate about hockey, which he played and coached well into his 40’s. Danny was an entrepreneur, and he took great pride in building and expanding his business ventures. He had a huge heart and his greatest source of happiness was providing a comfortable life for his wife and children. He was a dedicated and loving husband, father and grandfather. In his later years he enjoyed living on Vancouver Island, playing golf, travelling and spending time with friends and family.

He is survived by his sister Florence (Walter) Lesiuk, Michael (Peggy) Warwaruk, brother-in-law Dave (Diane) Lamsdale, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Paul Warwaruk, father Peter Warwaruk, and mother Helen Warwaruk.

As per Danny’s wishes, no service will be held.

The family would especially like to thank Dr. Reynolds, Dr. G. Leong and the staff of Acacia Ty Mawr who provided exceptional care at the end of his life.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.

A special thank you to brother and sister-in-law Dave and Diane Lamsdale for all the extra support during the last few years. As well, the family would like to thank their extended family and numerous friends across Canada that have supported Danny on his journey.

Very sorry to hear about the loss of Danny – as a former M&M employee boy the laughs we had at times with that great crew. Was also fortunate to be hosted by Danny and Jan on the island when my friend and I took a trip out West – there were simply no better hosts. Sending love to Jan and the entire family during this difficult time. ❤️

My sincerest condolences to Jan and family during this sad time. I enjoyed being a member of Danny’s M&M family….he shared a lot of stories of his upbringing and the pride he had when he spoke of his family was undeniable. He was a good guy…R.I.P. Danny
