Tribute
With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Audrey Downer. On August 1st, surrounded by her loving children, Audrey was reunited with the love of her life, Vic Downer. Audrey was predeceased by Vic on May 20, 2010. Also waiting to greet her were her brother Ellery, June 20th, 2007, and her Mother Aurelia, June 1st, 1988. Audrey leaves to mourn her four children John (Connie), Deanna (Ty), Elisa (Brian) and Will (Shelbi) and her beloved grandchildren Kristen, Michael, Josh, Hannah, Colby, Teldon, Brady, Eva, Jadyn, Keadon, and Grayson. Also greatly missing Audrey are her loving sisters Sharron (Vern), Blue (Jerry) and Char, her sister in law Harriet, as well as nieces and nephews and her extra special great niece Ella. Audrey will be missed by her Downer family as well as many friends and neighbors.
Audrey’s family wishes to extend deep gratitude to Dr. Lauren Jackson, Dr. Atwell, as well as many nurses, home support caregivers and staff at Cowichan District Hospital. Thanks also to the wonderful staff at Save On Foods Pharmacy. A celebration of Audrey’s life was held in Duncan on August 8, 2017. Donations may be made to BC Children’s Hospital or the BC Cancer Agency.

Awe I am so sorry about your mothers loss, I remember her fondly along with Vic from when our parents played slo pitch together, (the Strikers) were an amazing team and we always took turns going for a get together at one of the family homes which meant the parents socialized and the kids all played. Your mom has not changed one bit from the Gold River Days. She will be dearly missed and never forgotten. I can only imagine how happy she was to join Vic up above as well as how sad she was to leave you on earth. Just know she is watching over every single one of you and you will meet again.
