Arthur Carpentier

August 7, 1935 - December 15, 2014

Tribute

Arthur Bertrand Carpentier passed away peacefully at Cairnsmore Place, in Duncan, BC, after a battle with Vascular Dementia, on December 15, 2014.

Art was born in Zenon Park, Saskatchewan, on August, 1935, to Marie and Emile Carpentier (deceased).  He moved with his family at a young age to the Cowichan Valley, where after meeting Patricia Parta, he worked and raised a family.

Dad was the best father to Rick and Leslie, his pride and joy, and a kind and loving husband to Pat (deceased).

Dad worked for over 40 years at Crofton Pulp and Paper Mill. He was a great provider to his family, always there for all of us, as well as his extended family and friends. Family was everything to Dad, not just his immediate family but all of his brothers and their family as well; we are a tight knit clan. Mom, Patricia Anne Carpentier (nee Parta) predeceased Dad after a lengthy battle with the after affect of Cancer in 2000. Dad then met his wonderful second soul mate Jessie Elizabeth Coleman forming a wonderful life together, traveling the world and enjoying their later years together.

Dad will always be remembered for his love, his humor and joking ways.

He will be sadly missed by his son Rick (Debra) Carpentier, daughter Leslie (Derek) Christensen;  Jessie Elizabeth Coleman; Nadine Ball, as well as his grandchildren Danielle, (Tim) Crooks; Justin Purkiss and his great granddaughter Aurora Mae Crooks, just 6 months old, whom he was able to see and hold close in his last days. He will also be missed by his brothers Paul Carpentier, Lawrence Carpentier, and their families along with his extended family and friends that had the fortune to share his life.

The Family wishes to extend our heartfelt thanks to the kind and caring staff at Cairnsmore Place, especially to his nurses in his last hours Naomi and Lisa.  Also, a kind Thank you to Dr. Philipson for his compassionate care of our Dad.  No flowers please upon request.   Donations can be made to Cairnsmore Place, Cowichan District Hospital Association.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, December 20th, 2014, at Duncan Pentecostal Church, 931 Trunk Road, Duncan, BC.   A tea will follow.

Relation: cousin Patsy's husband

For Rick and Leslie: I’ve thought about your family from time to time and remember the visits from long ago when we where still children. They were quite enjoyable, and I’m sorry that we’ve lost track of each other, particularly Rick, as I believe that we were closer in age. So sorry that your dad has passed away. your cousin, Judy.
