Sadly, we announce the passing of our Husband, Dad, Grandpa and Great Grandpa. Jack was born in Duncan BC at Kings Daughters Hospital. Kings Daughters Hospital is now Cairnsmore Place residential care and it is where Jack left us.
Jack was predeceased by his father Harry Fielden in 1968, his sister Irene Paradis in 1981, Mother Violet Fielden in 1993, sister Betty Niles in 1998 and his brother Bill Fielden in 2008 and his good friend John Skertchly in 2001.
Jack is survived by his wife Freda of 68 years, his furry four legged girl Pixi, daughter Darlene Harris, her sons Aaron (Rachel) of Duncan BC great grandson Cayle of Spokane Wa , Brett (Amy) of Duncan BC , son Dan Fielden of Duncan BC and his children Britt, Tyler & Kevin and 4 great grandchildren of Victoria BC and daughter Sandra Hanna (Murray)of Cabo San Lucas Mx, her children, Curtis Smith (Stacy) great grandkids Addison and Nolan of Calgary AB, Shane Smith (Jasmine) great granddaughter Ava of Lethbridge AB and Katie Smith (Brennan) great grandson Jack of Edmonton AB. He is also survived by numerous amazing friends, nieces and nephews
Jack was born and raised and lived his entire 92 years in the Cowichan Valley. Jack lived on George St as a little boy and eventually built a home for his own family on George St where he lived until going to Cairnsmore in November of 2018. He was a lifetime member of the Cowichan Fish and Game association, he spent over 30 years with Island Processing rendering plant and retired from Managing the plant in 1991. Jack and Freda spent a few years traveling down south in the winters in their 5th wheel enjoying the Arizona weather and spending time with friends. One of Jack’s passions was fishing, Jack and Freda spent many summers out at Port Renfrew. He also enjoyed prawning with his close friend Harry Driver. Jack enjoyed playing horseshoes with Freda and their many friends out at the range in Glenora. He lived a wonderful life full of family, friends and adventure.
We would like to thank Dr Kubatskyy and the amazing staff at Cairnsmore Place for all the care you gave him. He wasn’t always the easiest to deal with, but you all took such great care of him and helped make his last 8 months a little more comfortable. There are a few of you that went above and beyond for Jack, his wife and his daughters. Thank you so much for everything.
A celebration of Life will be held at HW Wallace 5285 Polkey Rd Duncan BC on September 14, 2019 at 1:30 PM.
In Lieu of flowers please make a donation in Jack’s name to the charity of your choice.

Wishing you many many wonderful memories during this difficult time
With sincere sympathy

From: Doug Davidson
Relation: student, coworker and friend

I remember him fondly as a wonderful person, mentor, and as a boss he encouraged all the right things and led in a way that fostered loyalty to his cause.
He cared deeply about family, the outdoors and the simple pleasures of life that brought the two of them together… and of course the odd fish tale.
I will miss the easy smile and laugh that I will never forget.
