Tribute

Bryan Henry Klatt BA (Hons), BN, LPN, RN

   (December 25, 1972 – June 24, 2022)

Bryan passed away suddenly and unexpectedly June 24, 2022 at the age of 49. Born to Bruce and Cathy Klatt in Regina, Saskatchewan. His childhood was spent in Saskatchewan and in Calgary where he enjoyed life in Lake Bonavista with his family. After finishing high school, he attended university at Malaspina University-College and the University of Regina, completing an honorary degree in political science. Following university, he worked for the family business before moving into the health care system initially as a unit clerk at Foothills Medical Center in Calgary, and subsequently completed his LPN and RN training.

He met the love of his life, Erin, in Calgary. They shared 24 years of love and adventures and married June 3rd, 2006. The couple enjoyed hiking, mountain biking, and traveling in the Canadian wilderness, leading to many crazy adventures like once being chased by a pack of wolves on snowshoes. Their first 2 children, Indira and Beatrix, were born in Calgary before they relocated to Shawnigan Lake where their 3rd child Noelle was born in Duncan.

The family enjoyed numerous outdoor activities, especially camping in Tofino and on Quadra Island. Bryan also loved motorbiking with his friends all over Vancouver Island, and playing online NHL hockey with his New Jersey friends which spanned almost a decade.

Bryan was a compassionate and dedicated nurse at Cowichan District Hospital, however, his first love was always his family. His passing has left an unfillable void in our lives.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife Erin of 16 years, daughters Indira (15), Beatrix (13), and Noelle (10); brother Jeff (Haley); parents Bruce and Cathy; grandmother Edith; sister-in-laws Terrie, Nancy, and Patti (Doug) as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and colleagues.

A Celebration of Life is being planned in the future. Donations in Bryan’s memory can be made to one’s charity of choice. Please leave a message of your favorite memory of Bryan for his girls to keep, which can be left as a condolence on www.hwwallacecbc.com under Bryans name.

Those we love don’t go away,

They walk beside us everyday,

Unseen, Unheard, but always near,

So loved, so missed, so very dear.

My heart is broken for you and your beautiful girls. There is not much to say that can help you with your pain. You have a beautiful family and that will never change. I love you cousin❤️🙏

From: Amanda

Bryan was a mentor to me as his experience and motivational conversations about pursuing his degree helped me continue to push through the program. He was an amazing nurse , colleague and friend. The world has lost an amazing human being. I am so sorry Erin, the girls and the rest of his family and I can not imagine what you are going through. I am sending so much love and support in this time ♡ gone but never forgotten ❤️

From: Michele, Ian, Parker and Ainsley

Erin, Indie, Bea and Noelle – we are so very sorry. You have so much love and support surrounding you and we hope that, in time, the cherished memories and the beauty of Bryan’s love of his family will eclipse the heartache you feel. We are thinking of you.
