Ana Maria Oloriz

August 27, 1937 - August 19, 2020

Tribute

Ana Maria Atayde Oloriz, began dancing with our father again, August 19, 2020. Ana was larger than life, loved her family ferociously, compassionate beyond words, an amazing cook, world traveler, from the time she left her birthplace, Manila, Philippines (with 2 little girls in tow, and one well on the way!) until she landed in Our True North Strong and Free, AND, last but not least …FUNNY as all get out! We Salute You, Mama …we’ll miss your love, hugs, and how you made us laugh and laugh. This gracious lady’s legacy is carried on by her eldest daughter, Maricel Piercey and husband Gord, their children, Desiree, husband, Jay, and Ana’s great grandson, Jacob, Ana’s grandson, Sean, and his fiancé, Mandy Winter, and Gord’s daughters Rebecca and Meghan. Next in line is Ana’s next daughter, Ana Marie Fleming and her husband, David, Ana Marie’s three children, Johnathan Fleming, his wife, Jolene, and Ana’s great grandchildren, Julia and Jessica, Joshua Fleming and his wife, Charlotte, Lisa Ridgewell and her husband, David. Third in line, is her last daughter, Bernadette McCormack, and husband Andy, along with Bernadette’s two sons, Ben and Isaac. Last in line is Ana’s only son, Martin Oloriz, his fiancé Christine, his 2 daughters, Gabriella and Zoey, and Christine’s son, Sam. WoW, what a clan!

In lieu of flowers, for those who would like to make a donation, we’d love for you to donate to the charity of YOUR choice, or the Chemainus Healthcare Auxiliary who did such an amazing job taking care of our Mama. Ana gave to so many charities, we feel she would really really like that.

We send our deepest condolences to Maricel, Ana Marie, Bernadette and Martin and their respective families in the death of their mom, Ana. Ana (and Eddie) are our dearest and special friends. We spent a lot of memorable times together. We are glad to have visited Ana 3 years ago and had a great lunch and chat even though she did not remember who we were. We love you Ana and we’ll miss you. May you rest in peace. Love always, Tony and Liz Poblete

We were deeply saddened to hear about the passing of your Mom. Ana’s love of life was infectious, she always made us laugh and enjoy our time together. We can still hear her saying, “Oh, Ed-die”. Your parents were so important and influential to us during our time in Rainbow and we often reminisce about those days and cherish those memories.

Dear Maricel, Bernadette, Ana Marie and Martin,

There are really no words to say when we lose a love one. But want you to know that Tita Anna spoke her mind but she was an amazing, caring and kind woman. She always had a smile on her face and was vibrant. Your Mom and Dad welcomed us in Canada with open arms and helped us with things to get us settled. I remember so many happy memories with both of them. We will miss your mom a lot. Sending you all lots of love and hugs. Celebrate her life and may the wonderful memories of your mom comfort you all during this difficult time. Love always Marites, Dean & family
