Tribute
Thelma Helena Marie Saunders, born in Halifax Nova Scotia on June 7th 1940, has sadly passed. She left us on September 17th 2019. She is survived by her brother Wayne, son Michael, daughter Dana, grandchildren Katrina, Michaela and Jacob and Great Grand daughter Aviauna. She was an amazing mother, grandmother and friend. Sooke has been her home for the last 30+ years, she loved this community and it loved her back. Thelma volunteered at the Shirley fire hall, belonged to a few quilting clubs, where she made many a friend, and was a staple with the staff at Village Market. She made it a point to remember people’s names and take a genuine interest in their lives. She has left an imprint on the hearts of many and will forever be missed by her family and friends.
The family would like to extend its gratitude to everyone who has come together to help during this time.

Nanny, you have left so many hearts SO full of love and happiness. As sad as we are that you’re gone, we are glad to know that you are watching over us. You were such a light in so many people’s lives, and you’re going to be missed by so many people.
