Glenda Joyce Scott

March 5, 1936 - May 18, 2018

Tribute

It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother Glenda. She left this world just as she had always prayed to; quickly and painlessly with loved ones nearby. She leaves behind devastated daughters and best friends Kim (Peter Watts) and Leslie (Stephen Aikins) and treasured stepchildren Rob (Barb Avery), Doug (Kim Scullion) and Cynthia (Jean Aucoin).  She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her brood of grandchildren, Liam, Brooke, Scott, Jessica, Trevor, Rochelle, Savannah, Ryan, Chloe and precious great grandchildren Sophie and Theo.

Glenda was born in Kingston, Ontario, the only child of doting parents Glenn and Doris Herrington. She studied Fashion design at Ryerson college in Toronto and after graduation marveled in traveling Europe as a buyer for Eaton’s Canada.  She loved telling the story of how she met the love of her life Campbell Scott (d.1988) on a blind date during a snowstorm in Montreal on New Years Eve 1962.  She spent her married life and beyond as a dedicated full-time volunteer for a broad spectrum of causes close to her heart.

Glenda lived her life with a heart full of joy and thankfulness to God for all creation.  Her “Joie de Vivre” was apparent to all who had the pleasure of meeting her.  She always had the time to stop for a chat or a kind word.  She made friends wherever she went around the world.  We are so grateful to have had her in our lives.  The memories that she leaves behind will continue to fill our hearts with love and joy forever.

She will be laid to rest in Montreal with her beloved Cam this summer and there will most definitely be a” Celebration of her Life” at such time…

Never goodbye…

Dear Kim and Leslie,
Was sad and distressed to see you two lost your wonderful mother so suddenly! We are not sure where you are but have such fond memories of your parents who lived near us on Vendome Avenue in Montreal and then they had you both and we spent a Cancun holiday together in your teen years and enjoyed the Club Med. experience!!
What a handsome couple they were…..and so much fun to be with!! You may remember Jim and Geoff and Pam who are now in their 50’s and have given us 8 grandchildren! It is good that you have a large and loving family for they will be important to help you with this profound loss. We send you both our sympathy and treasure the memory of our long ago times together! Lovely to be able to connect with you………Bev and Chris Cape

From: Lynn Grant (Marilyn)
Relation: Originally, we met at Ryerson.

I am shocked and saddened to learn of Glenda’s death. We attended Ryerson’s School of Fashion together and shared many interesting times. When she and Cam lived in Toronto we would get together. Some of my daughter’s little clothes were passed on to Glenda for her little girls. Last October when I was working on our 60th anniversary of graduating from Ryerson, I learned Glenda had moved to Vancouver. She was an amazing and beautiful person, inside and out. I send my deepest sympathy to Kim and Leslie and all her family. I am so sorry!
