In Loving Memory ~
With the greatest sadness, we announce the passing of Yvonne Lorraine Oliver (nee Despins) on December 31, 2022, at Cowichan District Hospital in Duncan, British Columbia.
Lorraine passed away peacefully surrounded by her family following a brief stay in the hospital.
Lorraine was born in Campbell River, B.C. on August 28, 1945, and grew up in Sayward. She moved to Duncan to finish her schooling and met Gary. They started their life together in Caycuse, and lived for many years in Lake Cowichan where they worked and raised their family.
Lorraine was an active golfer, curler, and a Girl Guide leader for many years. She loved cooking for family and friends. She enjoyed gardening and tending her beautiful flowers around her deck.
Lorraine cherished time spent with family, friends, and neighbours. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Lorraine is survived by her beloved husband of 58 years, Gary Oliver; daughter, Christine Cavalaris; son, Donald Oliver; and grandchildren: Ryan and Carly Cavalaris; brother-in-law, Calvin Oliver; sister, Denise (Doug) Taylor; sister-in-law, Doreen Despins; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, Prosper and Elizabeth Despins; son-in-law, Alexander Cavalaris; older brothers, Paul Despins, and Roland (Joyce) Despins.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Lorraine on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at 1:00 p.m., at H.W. Wallace Cremation and Burial Center, 5285 Polkey Road, Duncan, B.C.
