William (Bill) Henry Chester Sampson

Tribute
It is with great sadness that we announce that on November 11, 2024, the unexpected passing of William “Bill” H.C. Sampson of Cowichan Bay BC.
Bill is survived by his loving wife Janis, his son Thomas (Shawna), and his two granddaughters Aubrey and Madison (the diamonds in his eyes), his mother Barbara (Father George pre-deceased), siblings Jennifer Howse (Martin), Susan Dalrymple (Bob), Allen Sampson, and Jack Sampson (Tina).
Everywhere Bill worked he was valued and respected sense of humor, integrity, patience, kindness, and dedication.
As Bill had a special passion for archery and hunting, he worked at both Bucky’s in Duncan and Cabela’s in Nanaimo. He loved teaching youth at the Junior Olympic Program (JOP) at the Cowichan Bowman Archery Club and spent countless hours honing his craft and sharing his skills with family and friends.
In his recent years Bill worked in construction on south Vancouver Island on multiple large projects including the new Duncan RCMP station, the Nanaimo Brannen Lake Correctional Institute expansion, as well as the new Cowichan District Hospital.
Bill will be forever missed by his wife Janis, family and his huge extended family of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Janis and the family would like to extend a special thank you to all those involved in bringing Bill home.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
