William (Bill) Edward Ingham

July 14, 1930 - August 2, 2024

Tribute

Bill was born at Malahat, BC to Minnie and Robert Ingham.

Bill was predeceased by his first wife Meryl in 2000.

Bill is survived by his wife Cecile, sons Ted (Darlene), Art (Karin) and Jim (Deb). Grandchildren – Darin, Carly, Bradley, Dale, Brandon, Riley, Sophia, and Emily. Great grandchildren – Rylan, Talan, Maylee, Weston, Bodie, Jake and Violet. Stepchildren – Martin, Denise and Lil.

Dad met mom in Qualicum, and they were married March 28th, 1956 in Qualicum. They would then proceed to make the Cowichan Valley, their home.

Bill worked for the City of Duncan for 25 years and retired in 1990.

He was very active in Duncan Minor Baseball, coaching many of the Valley kids back in the Pioneer Park days.

Bill’s real loves were fishing and hunting. He always looked forward to the opening day of duck season, at Cowichan Bay, with his three sons. Dad also had many memorable moose hunting trips to Germansen Landing with Ted and Art.

After we lost mom in 2000, Dad was introduced to Cecile, and they were married in 2004. They had 20+ wonderful years together.

Bill’s big smile and contagious laugh will be missed by all that had the pleasure to have known him.

Special thanks to the staff at The Hamlets in Duncan, where Bill and Cecile have called home for the past 2 years.

We would also like to thank Dr. Sohn and the entire team at Alderlea Medical Clinic, as well as the nursing and care aid staff at Cowichan District Hospital, for their passionate care of dad.

We so enjoyed our time as Bill and Cecile’s new “young” neighbours. Bill was always ready with a smile and a laugh. I haven’t anyone to spray with the hose now. He was a wonderful man so happy we got to know him. Hugs to you his family
