Tribute

With his loving wife of 39 years at his side, Billy passed away Sept 22, 2018 after a year long battle with cancer.

William (Billy) Hadikin was born July 1949 in Trail, BC. He graduated from Stanley Humphries Secondary School in Castlegar BC, eventually completing his studies at BCIT in the fields of Electrical and Electronics along with Civil and Structural Technology.

Billy retired to the Sooke area and finished his career as the Emergency Operations Manager with the district.

He is remembered by his family, friends and grandson Colton.

I was so very sorry to hear of Billy’s passing. He and I went through high school together and I have always remembered him for his humour, kindness, and being a “good guy”. I am so happy I had a chance to see him at our reunion in 2016 in Castlegar! My deepest condolences go to Billy’s wife and family.

My sincere condolences for Bill’s family. I’ve always owed him a deep debt of gratitude for training me when I started working for the District of Sooke in 2004 as an inexperienced building inspector. I’m grateful for the down to earth, pragmatic approach he taught me. I’m sorry for your loss.

Dear Val and family

So sorry to hear of Billy’s passing . Billy was a good friend to me through High School and when I needed a ride to UBC in 1968 he kindly delivered me to my residence at Totem Park. It was great to see him at our 50th Reunion and to meet Val. May your memories bring you Comfort and Peace. Rest in Peace, Billy.

My sincere condolences to Val and family. I have so many fond memories of working with Bill at the District of Sooke. His happy presence and even happier shirts were hard to miss and enjoy. Bumping into him from time to time after retirement, he would always share his infectious grin while telling a tale of his latest travels. He was a proud dad and grandpa, who expressed the love and pride for his family at every opportunity. He will be deeply missed.
