Tribute

It is with immense sadness that we must announce the passing of Wendy Erickson, nee MacDowell.  Weny left us on the morning of March 5, 2014 after spending a fantastic birthday weekend awat with her family.  She leaves behind her beloved children, Mark (Caitlin), Breanna, amd Patrick; as well as her husband Jamie; mother Kathleen; father Robin (Kathy); and a very large family, entended family, and many close friends.

Wendy was a very active member of the Cowichan community, touching the lives of many with her teacjing profession and extensive volunteer work.  She loved childre, smiles, and the outdoors, and so all are invited to attend a celebration in the coming spring.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the new SD79 Play and Development Centre.

Jamie and family, I was so very sorry to hear about Wendy’s passing. Her smile would light up the room and she always made time to chat and make sure everyone was included. She will be greatly missed in the community. My thoughts are with you.

Relation: Family friend

Our heartfelt condolences go out to Jamie, the children, the Macdowell Family and the Erickson Family. No words can say how sorry we are for your loss. You can not say enough about the strength and courage that Wendy had. “God Bless to All of You”
I will always remember her as the little girl on Heather Street that would always be with her older sister when I would go and hang out with her brothers.

From: Laura Ferreira
Relation: knew Wendy through playing and coaching field hockey

I was sad to hear of Wendy’s passing even though I knew she was not well. Wendy was a delightful person, always positive with a big smile for everyone. We often met on the hockey field where we would have a chat about whatever. My heart goes out to her family. Why do the good die young?

Dear Mark and Family.
We were truly saddened to see the passing of your dear Mom/Wife. It seems such a short while ago that we had a wonderful conversation in a car park down town. Wendy was a lovely lady always with a smile on her face. Our sincerest condolences to all of you.
The Grimes Family.

Relation: Relationship - How did you know the deceased?

As a colleague at Koksilah Elementary, I grew to appreciate Wendy’s great sense of humor and her empathetic manner with both staff and students. I will remember her fondly.
