Tribute

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Warren Rogers.  Warren is survived by his mother Jean (Deloy), father Bill, brother Kent (Della), and sister Crystal (Ward); Warren leaves behind his daughters Morgan and Jordann, sons Kayne and Chase, many extended family members and wonderful friends.  Warren is also survived by long term partner/business partner Amy deWit and partner, friend and supporter, Kris Larose.  Warren grew up in Fort Qu’Appelle, Saskatchewan and followed his dad to Duncan in the early 90’s.  Warren was well known in the Cowichan Valley as co-owner of the Courts Sports Lounge and his many committed years to community baseball in both fast and slow pitch leagues.  Warren had many talents and hobbies, could fix anything at both the bar and his home, loved camping and road trips, was an avid curler for many years and to everyone’s dismay, very much enjoyed karaoke! Warren’s last career was part-owner of the Courts Sports Lounge, a profession he loved.  He previously worked for Shaw Cable Systems, but his greatest talent was as a commercial/residential journeyman painter which he did for most of his life.  We know that Warren must have been smiling down the day he passed when his beloved Saskatchewan Rough Riders won the Grey Cup.  The family would like to thank Roma Nowicki, Lauren James, Kim Sayer and Elizabeth deWit for all their help and continuing support. A thank you also to all the first responders, doctors, nurses and staff at Cowichan District Hospital and Victoria General Hospital.

   A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, December 6, 2013 at noon at H.W. Wallace Cremation and Burial Services, 5285 Polkey Rd, Duncan, BC.  In lieu of flowers, an In-Trust Donation can be made in support of Warren’s children, account number 0678-6520767 at TD Canada Trust, 351 Trans Canada Hwy, Unit 1, Duncan, BC V9L 3R3 (cash and cheques
