Vincent Gallop

September 13, 1934 - March 24, 2022

Tribute

It is with shattered hearts we say goodbye to our dad just 3 short weeks after losing the love of his life Theresa.
He was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather and great grandfather and wonderful fun uncle to many nieces and nephews.
He will be best remembered for his years in Youbou at the Cedar Inn and his great smorgasbords and catering many local events plus his wonderful baking skills. He gave love and laughter to many people from all walks of life, many knew that they would be welcomed with open arms to stop by for a drink or simply a good story or  conversation.
He leaves behind his children, Sandi (Rick) Valerie (Allan) Karen (Denis) and Mike. 7 grandchildren,10 great grandchildren and too many nieces and nephews to mention by name.
In lieu of flowers, please leave a condolence or story at www.hwwallacecbc.com or simply have a drink in his honour.

I can’t put into words how devastating the loss of both of our parents is to me, losing dad just 3 weeks after mom has been very difficult for all of us. The one thing that is helping me through this very difficult time is knowing in my heart that he is where he wanted and needs to be which is beside our mom. I will miss him forever and will remember the wonderful times that we all spent together as a family especially the last 11 years that he was here with us . I will be eternally grateful for the many memories and hilarious stories that I can now pass on to our children and grandchildren

Relation: Grandson/granddaughter/great grandson

Dearest grandma and grandpa
Our family is devastated by the loss of both of you especially so close together but we understand that you couldn’t be apart for very long. The love you 2 shared was inseparable and what we all hope to have. We will miss you two dearly and we won’t be the same without you here. The memories we’ve all made together are ones we will always cherish and treasure. You’ve helped mold the people we’ve become and the families we’ve made of our own. We hope that you are in each other’s arms again. Holding each other tight, sharing the love that couldn’t be broken and are back to great health. We hope that you look down at us, laugh and smile with us and wrap your wings around us when we need you the most but can’t see you here. We will feel your presence when the sunshines on our faces or when a gentle breeze blows on a hot day. Please know that we are all broken right now as you both are no longer here. We love and miss you so much that our hearts can’t comprehend the pain but one day we’ll be able to smile and laugh again because you’ll always be in our hearts, you’ll always be apart of each and every one of us. We pray that you feel the love we have for both of you. Rest easy

Dad, you taught me acceptance, compassion, humour and the ability to love with all my heart. You brought me up to be strong and independent so even though my heart is broken right now I know that I will be okay. You and Mom are in each other’s arms again and that is as it should be. I am so grateful for all the memories, the stories and the times we all got to share. You are a part of all of us. Goodbye Dad, I love you ❤️

I am so sad to hear of my cousin Vincent’s passing. So soon after Theresa…..but I’m sure they wanted it this way!!!!

I had a wonderful visit with a lot of you when your Aunt Shirley from New Zealand was in Vancouver a few years ago, and I came from Puce / Belle River to see her ………. we took the ferry across to spend an afternoon with Vincent and Theresa and your lovely family.

For many years, I worked with Theresas sister Phyllis Gerard at Green Giant in Tecumseh and always kept up on your family news that way.

Sleep easy kids knowing your Mom and Dad are together again! Maybe we will all meet again.

From: Shirley O'Leary
Relation: He was my younger brother.

It is with great sadness that I say goodbye to my little brother. I cannot believe that this has happened to close to the going of his lovely wife. The memories I have of Vincent are too numerous to tell, but they are all wonderful memories. He was so helpful to me when we had the restaurant at Youbou, and used to come and help with functions whenever he could. While he and the family were there, we always took the opportunity to have a good family visit. Goodbye my darling. You are now with your loveof a lifetime and happy I know. I love you so much.

Dad
Although I am devastated by the loss of you and Mom so close together, I know you just could not be apart. You were Mom’s one true love and she was yours. I hope you are wrapped safely in each others arms. My heart feels so broken right now but I know it will heal. There will be days of laughter and some of tears. You raised a beautiful family Dad, who will love you always. Love you Dad, forever and a day.

Condolences to all the family for your double loss. We are left with memories only, but they are good ones. Vincent was a larger than life character, and Teresa was never far from his side in all their ventures. Thinking of you all at this time, and hoping you are close enough to support each other as you adjust to not having your mom and dad any longer.

From: Sally Wilson
Relation: Cousin

My condolences go out to you on the loss of your Dad, so close to the loss of your Mom. We never saw Vince as much as we would of liked, but even as a small kid he always left me with a memory that I hold to this day. So glad that Shirley J and l where able to visit with the family when we where west. He with always be fondly remembered
