Dear Gini,
Vern’s death leaves me saddened. I admired him and took pleasure in his company. The comfort in knowing I would see him again is gone but pales in relation to your loss and sorrow. I wish you strength and the warmth of memories of a pair of lives well lived.

We were so lucky to know Vern. Our weekly dinners while he was supervising the forestrycrew restoring Stanley Park, became”Tuesday’s with Vern” . We always enjoyed his company and delighted in his many logging stories. He was a brilliant man. A most caring man. Our loss is enormous. We will never forget him.
Dear Gini, your sorrow is our sorrow. Our thoughts and cares are with you at this regrettably sad time. Xo Cheri

To Gini and family we are so sorry for your loss, we will miss are twice yearly visits from Vern. Each time there was so much laughter even if it was stories we had told many times before . It is with deep regret that we can’t make it to his service but I know Vern would understand . Are thoughts will be with you and your family that day.

Gino, Carla & Ashly – sorry for your loss. I enjoyed my years at Hayes attending the Gait College of Road Building. I learned more in a day with Vern than I did in 6 years of Technical School and University. We also had a lot of fun.

Verns passing came as a huge shock. He was larger than life and always had a smile on his face. He was such a fun guy to work with. My heart goes out to his grieving family. I will always fondly remember Vern nick naming me the ‘pit bull’. You will be missed.
