Tribute
With profound sorrow and humble acceptance of Waheguru Ji’s will, we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved aunt, Veena Paul Ahluwalia, who left for her heavenly abode on December 19, 2025.
Born on September 25, 1955, in Amritsar, India, Veena was the eldest of two brothers and three sisters, a role she embraced with love, care, and devotion throughout her life. She was married in 1986 and, in 1987, moved to Canada, where she became a cherished and active member of the Cowichan Valley community. Her gentle presence touched many lives, and her contributions will be fondly remembered.
Veena was a woman of deep faith and a profoundly spirited nature. She radiated warmth, kindness, and generosity, always ready to offer her time, support, and guidance to those in need. Her compassion extended beyond borders; during the COVID-19 pandemic, she selflessly supported families in India, demonstrating her unwavering commitment to helping others. She volunteered at many community events, leaving a lasting impact through her selfless service and caring heart.
Her home reflected her love for beauty and harmony, from her lovingly maintained garden to her delicious home-cooked meals. Veena found joy in nurturing her family, hosting gatherings, and sharing laughter and stories. She treasured moments with her nephews, nieces, and grandchildren, creating a home filled with warmth, love, and happiness. Her wisdom, guidance, and nurturing spirit will be remembered and cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Veena faced life’s challenges with remarkable strength and grace, including the heartbreaking loss of her beloved husband in 2020, whom she missed dearly. Despite these hardships, she remained resilient, continuing to live with compassion, dignity, and an unwavering spirit.
She is survived by her two sisters, two brothers, many nephews, nieces, and grandchildren, all of whom will carry forward her legacy of love, kindness, and integrity. She is also lovingly remembered by her dear friends, Alka and Palwinder, who were a constant source of companionship and support.
The family extends their deepest and most heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and nurses at Cowichan District Hospital, with special thanks to the ICU staff, whose exceptional care, compassion, and dedication provided comfort, dignity, and support during Veena’s final days. Your kindness, professionalism, and unwavering commitment brought great solace to our family during an incredibly difficult time, and we will remain forever grateful.
Veena will be profoundly missed by her family, friends, and the wider community. Though she is no longer with us in person, her spirit, love, and the lessons she imparted will forever remain in our hearts.
We pray that her soul attains Sadgati (liberation) and Moksha (eternal peace), and that Waheguru Ji grants strength and solace to all who mourn her loss.
The funeral service will be held at H. W. Wallace Cremation and Burial Centre on December 27, 2025, at 10:00 AM, followed by prayers for her eternal peace.
Waheguru Ji / Om Shanti — May her soul rest in eternal peace.
