Tori Callsen

Tribute
CALLSEN: Tori Catherine – passed away suddenly on Saturday September 18, 2010. Born in Duncan, BC on June 17, 1983. Predeceased by her mother Sheri and her grandfather Reg Ryan. Lovingly remembered by her family; son Myles and his father Emmett; her father Doug (Faye) Callsen; siblings; Staci (Doug) Nelson, Ryan (Amie), and Darci (Adam) Dukoff; grandparents; Dorothy Ryan; Jack and Joyce Callsen; Faye’s children Chris, Todd, and Stacy; nephews; Wyatt, Braydon, and Jayden; nieces; Olivia, Abigail and Raven as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.
Toto as she was affectionately known by her family took all her primary schooling in Lake Cowichan graduating in 2001 and in 2009 from Sprott-Shaw Community College with a diploma in Business Administration. Throughout her childhood she was a member of the Lake Cowichan Figure Skating Club, Minor Baseball, and Wilderness Club. She especially enjoyed playing slow pitch and had recently joined an all girls team in Duncan.
Tori loved hockey, especially enjoyed watching her nephews and was a huge fan of the Capitals.
Through school, work and recreation Tori made many friends and was known for having a great big smile and a hug for everyone. Her friends and family were very important to Tori and so looked forward to family birthdays and celebrations but the thing that gave her the most joy was her son Myles. She was so proud of him and had so much love for him but even though this love was so deep it could not overcome the pain she had inside and the war it must have raged in her. We will never know. She is gone from us to be with Mom and a huge part of ours hearts have been torn a part. Tori, we love you so much and pray you are now at peace.
In lui of flowers a donation can be made in Tori’s name to the Canadian Cancer Society, Canadian Mental Health Association or a charity of your choice.
A Celebration of Tori’s life will be held in the Lake Cowichan United Church, 10 King George N., Lake Cowichan BC on Saturday September 25th, 2010 at 1:00 PM with a luncheon to follow. Online condolences may be offered at www.hwwallacecbc.com

RIP Tori.. know that youll be missed by so many. To her friends and family who had the blessing to have known Tori for longer than myself, I am sending you every ounce of love I have, to help you heal from this terrible loss. My prayers are with you daily, and will continue to be for the years to come. Tori had such an infectious smile and though I met her only a handful of times, it is a smile I will not quickly forget. In her short time here, she made a powerful impact, and this will live on through her son and loved ones. RIP Tori xoxoxox

To Doug and all the Callsen family. Having just met Tori at a Capital’s game two weeks ago, I cannot imagine the loss you are all feeling. She was a delight to watch the game with and I left saying to myself “what a pleasant daughter you have” Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this time. Our sincere condolences. Doug and family my thoughts and prayers are with you. I met Tori when she was so young and then again when she had become a mother, sober woman and student I enjoyed the conversations we had about life and how much both of us loved Sheri. It is so sad that her life ended so soon.
