Theo van der Boom
December 12, 1938 - January 26, 2022
Tribute
On January 26, 2022, Theo signed on for his last trip. A Marine/Steam Engineer for 55 years, he travelled the Seven Seas and visited places on all five Continents, the Arctic and Antarctic. The Chief was well known and respected by many, and remembered for his mischievous smile. Born in Rotterdam, the sea lured him from a young age until he met our Mam. They married in 1964, but until his retirement at 71, he remained faithful to the sea. He and Mam went RVing across North America and Mexico, and explored Laos, Cambodia and Guatemala. Camping was the family’s favourite pastime. Now, he’s on his eternal journey leaving behind his wife, Judy, beloved children(-in law) Stefan (Rona), Daphne, Bernadette (Richard), precious grandchildren Sebastiaan, Isobella, Brock, Alex, Charlotte, and five furry grandkids. See you later Manneke, Daddy, Dad, Pappie, Opa, Theo. Goede Reis and have a wonderful time reuniting with our friends and family! Thank you for such wonderful memories; we will miss you.

So sorry to hear of Theo’s passing. We were fortunate to have Theo & Judy as neighbours when we moved to Vancouver Island in 1978. Theo was always easy to be with and willing to lend a hand when needed. Thoughts and prayers to the family in dealing with your loss.
