Thelma Helena Marie Saunders

Tribute
Thelma Helena Marie Saunders, born in Halifax Nova Scotia on June 7th 1940, has sadly passed. She left us on September 17th 2019. She is survived by her brother Wayne, son Michael, daughter Dana, grandchildren Katrina, Michaela and Jacob and Great Grand daughter Aviauna. She was an amazing mother, grandmother and friend. Sooke has been her home for the last 30+ years, she loved this community and it loved her back. Thelma volunteered at the Shirley fire hall, belonged to a few quilting clubs, where she made many a friend, and was a staple with the staff at Village Market. She made it a point to remember people’s names and take a genuine interest in their lives. She has left an imprint on the hearts of many and will forever be missed by her family and friends.
The family would like to extend its gratitude to everyone who has come together to help during this time.

Words cannot express the loss of a sister your smile and sometimes rough demeanour which was part of the Myers way will be missed. You told it as you saw it which was refreshing but not always accepted. Know this you have left a legacy behind in your daughter and son who have now taken up the gauntlet to carry on the traditions you have passed down to them.
Now that you have our fathers smile just keep on grinning girl.
