Tribute
Sheila Elizabeth Lunan
February 4, 1954 – March 8, 2010
Sheila passed away peacefully in the accompaniment of her loved ones
after a long battle with illness. She is predeceased by her parents
Helen and William Turner, her sister Mary Francis (Molly), and
survived by her husband Ken of 25 years, her children Jenny and Jeff,
her brothers John and Tom, and her sisters Marg and Helen. Sheila”s
legacy is that of a caring and compassionate wife, a proud and loving
mother, and a respected and energetic member of the art community.
Born in Rossland, BC, and married in Calgary where she raised her
family, Sheila and Ken moved to Chemainus two years ago and lived
life to the fullest. A budding artist, Sheila received her first
award of recognition for her paintings, a People”s Choice Award, mere
hours after she had passed. Sheila will be dearly missed by all her
immediate and extended family, her friends, and by everyone else who
was lucky enough to know her well.

We only knew you for a short while Sheila. I will miss our visits while you were set up with your art work. The lord decided to call you home way to soon. R.I.P.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Ken, Jenny and Jeff. Sheila was one in a million – she was one that said what was on her mind and I greatly appreciated that. I also admired her for following her dream of painting. We should all learn from her – follow your dreams – don’t keep on waiting until next year. You will be missed Sheila.
