Tribute

LaRose, Shannon Marie

February 19, 1961 – May 26, 2009

Shannon LaRose (nee Smith) passed away suddenly at Port Alberni Hospital on May 26, 2009, at the age of 48. She was born in Ladysmith, B.C. on February 19, 1961, where she spent her childhood years. It was later on while attending the wedding of her cousin, that she met her future husband, and best friend, John LaRose. The two were joined in marriage in 1992, and together were raising a family in Port Alberni.

Shannon loved the outdoors, and enjoyed spending time with her family showing her horses. She loved being with her family most of all, whether it was with a large gathering, camping trips, or just sitting around the fire. It was around the fire that she and her husband John shared many quiet times where they would sit and talk, and dream about the future.

Shannon will be lovingly remembered by her husband John, her two girls Jennifer and Sarah, and two step children Clint and Tammy. She also leaves behind her parents Albert (Fuzzy) and Colleen Smith, her sister Lorianne (Andy), brothers Steven (Teresa), and Dan (Jess). She will also be sadly missed by the LaRose family, and many nephews, nieces, and friends.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Edwards Roman Catholic Church, 2085 Maple Bay Road on Tuesday June 2, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. Followed by Interment at Mountain View Cemetery, Somenos Road. A reception will be held at St. Edwards following the committal service. Online condolences may be offered at www.hwwallacecbc.com
