Shannon Lee Halldorson
September 17, 1956 - December 1, 2025
Tribute
Shannon Lee Halldorson was born in Comox, British Columbia, to Robert and Ella Hallet. She lived her life rooted in love, family, and quiet strength, leaving behind a legacy that will be felt for generations.
Shannon was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Ella Hallet, and her sister Debbie Strozk, Each loss shaped her, and through it all she remained deeply caring and devoted to the people she loved.
In 1976, Shannon married the love of her life, Dale Halldorson, and together they began a life built on companionship, shared adventures, and family. Their bond was steady and enduring, and it became the foundation of the beautiful family they created together.
Shannon was first and always a mother. Nothing meant more to her than her children, Matt Halldorson and Jaime Skistad. She loved them fiercely and showed that love in the way she listened, the way she showed up, and the way she cared without ever needing recognition for it. As her family grew, her heart grew with it.
Her favourite role was being a grandma. Shannon cherished every moment with her grandchildren, Colton Camplair (Ellee Donn), Cayse Skistad, and Slade Skistad. They were her pride, her joy, and some of her greatest happiness in life. Time with them was sacred, and her love for them was endless.
Shannon had a soft spot for friends who became family. Over the years, she welcomed people into her life with warmth and loyalty, including many she treated as her own. Her friendships were built on trust, humour, and genuine connection, and she held those bonds close to her heart.
She found joy in the simple, meaningful things. Long drives with Dale through the bush, playing softball with Kimmy Newman, family barbecues filled with laughter, horseshoe games, and gathering everyone together around the table. Those moments were where she felt most at home, surrounded by the people she loved.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses who cared for Shannon, with special gratitude to Dr. Kim Grymaloski and Especially to Michelle, for the compassion and care shown to her during her final chapter.
Shannon’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her. She will be remembered for her kindness, her steady presence, and the way she made people feel safe, loved, and seen.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the springtime (May 23rd), when the days are longer and brighter, a season that reflects the warmth Shannon brought into the lives of everyone around her.
