Tribute

Wylie, Sandra Annie (nee Ball)
September 30, 1960 – May 5 2011

Passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, after a long difficult struggle with inflammatory bowel disease. Forever loved by her husband Stephen and children Tannis, Kyle, Ruth and Colin and grandma”s littlest angels Paisley and Kaylee.

Sandra was a very upbeat, caring and thoughtful women who devoted her entire life to her husband, children, family and the Lord.

Sandra was born and raised in Duncan by her parents Hazel and Joe Ball, along with her sister Sharon and brothers Joseph, Peter and William. After high school she went to nursing school and became an LPN until she fell in love with her sweetheart, married and began her family. In 1996 the Wylie”s moved to Lake Cowichan where they bought the South Shore Motel. Sandra touched the lives of the thousands of people she came in contact with. She will be sadly missed, but never forgotten, by all who knew her caring, compassionate and loving ways.

Friends and family are invited to her memorial to be held Wednesday, May 11 2011 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints; 1815 Tzouhalem Road Duncan, B.C at 2pm.

A special THANK YOU to all the nurses and Doctors who cared for her.

From: Maureen Erickson(nee Batty)
Relation: Childhood friends

My deepest condoences to the family of Sandra. I have many fond memories of growing up with Sandra and the Ball family. I spent a lot of time at the Ball house on Deauchars Drive. We all kept busy together on our bikes and playing a game of soccor, baseball or football in the park. I remember camping trips and listening to music when her sister Sharon would come home for visits. We read a lot of comics. Nobody had more comics than the Ball kids. We all swam in each others pools. We always went to each others birthday parties. ( I am 6 days younger than the Ball Triplets) And we always walked to school together. Mrs. Ball always had a jar full of homeade cookies that she shared with all of us neighborhood kids. It was a great neighborhood full of lots of kids and we were always together. I will always remember those days. I am so sorry and sad to hear that Sandra passed away so young. I live in Calgary and I am flying home tomorrow on the 12th. I wish I was home a day earlier so I could have been at Sandra’s service.
God Bless and May Sandra rest in peace. Love Maureen

So sorry to hear about Sandra’s passing. I know we are not supposed to have favourites as teachers, but Sandra was definitely one of mine. Such a capacity for learning and life, a treat to teach and educate are my memories of Sandra. My condolences to her family, from Dave Achurch, former teacher at George Bonner Junior Secondary School.

From: Elana Stocker
Relation: friend

I am deeply sorry for the loss of Sandra. She was a truly loving person. As I thought of her and all her gifts she shared with us the thought came to me: “You know, I bet she will be there for me when I die”. Suddenly a strong feeling of peace came over me as if she was saying “Sure, I can be there for you!” I am grateful to have known her and for her example she set of unconditional love, generousity and service. I hope her family will find peace and comfort as they mourn.
