Sandra Lorraine Bergen (Huston)

December 10, 1955 - February 4, 2015

Born on December 10, 1955 in Grostenquin, France, Sandie passed away peacefully on February 4, 2015 in Victoria General Hospital, surrounded by her family. She was the beloved soul-mate and wife of 36 years to Charlie and loving mother to her children, Amanda and Aaron. She will be sadly missed by her sisters Karen (Rick), Cheryl, and Patti (Phil), her best friend, Sandy Fetchko, and her many in-laws, nieces and nephews. Sandie possessed a loving heart and quiet strength that endeared her to all who knew her. As the author of the very successful Jada Drau and Cat's Tales series of books. Sandie had fans and friends all over the world. A huge thank you to Steve Shumka, RMT, and Diana Cacy Hawkins of Marion Margaret Press, as well as to all who sent words of encouragement during her final days. The hope and encouragement they provided meant a great deal to her and her family. A special thank you to the staffs of Cowichan District Hospital and the Neurological Floor of Victoria General Hospital who eased Sandie's burden. A celebration of Sandie's life will be held on Friday, February 13, 2015 at 2pm in the Duncan Community Lodge 2244, Moose Road, Duncan, BC. Memorial donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation, the Canadian Diabetes Association or Cowichan Pipes and Drums.
