Samuel Beldessi

November 11, 1924 - April 4, 2020

Tribute

Sam was predeceased by his parents, Attillio and Maria Baldassi, sisters Velia and Brunie, brothers Bill and Bruno.

Sam died at Cowichan District April 4, 2020. He is survived by his loving wife of 72 years Margaret and sons William (Sharleen) Sandspit, and Donald (Debra) Youbou, Grandchildren Leanne (Mike) Hannam, Sooke and William (Daynet) Beldessi, Mexico. Great Grandchildren Riley, Maddy, and Keegan Coxford and Ryan, Abriel, William, Tristan and Aiden Beldessi, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Sam worked in the woods all over Vancouver Island as well as the Queen Charlottes retiring at 60 and devoted the rest of his life to making seniors lives better. He worked as president of the Seniors Centre and after, along with Dorothy Clode spearheaded the planning and building of Evergreen Place which he managed until January 2019. He was a life member of the Cowichan Lake Lions Club and was awarded the Queen Elizabeth 2 Diamond Jubilee Medal in recognition of his contribution to Canada.

We cannot thank Dr. Froeze, the Beverly Medical Clinic as well as the nurses on 2nd and 3rd floors South at the hospital for their care.

There will be no service by request.

Sam is ever loved – never forgotten.
