Rodney Mackinnon

February 11, 1979 - May 22, 2014

Tribute

Rodney was born on February 11, 1979 in New Westminster, BC to his parents Debby and Greg Mackinnon.  He went missing in the Lake Cowichan forest area on May 1, 2014 and was found May 22, 2014. Sadly he had passed away during that time.

He is survived by his mother Debby (Lee Nickel), his sisters Nicole (Jonathan) Doucet and Casey and his brother Clayton as well as his stepsister Hailey (Shayne) and stepbrother Weylin (Jessica). Rodney will also be missed by his grandparents Marilyn and the late Allen Mackinnon and Ken and Bernice Skramstad. Many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family are also mourning our loss.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Centennial Hall, 309 S Shore, Lake Cowichan, on Saturday, May 31 at 2:30 PM.     .

Rodney was an intelligent and gentle young man.He was kind spoken, respectful and had a heart of gold on him.He valued his friends and family with high regards. He was genuine, artistic and saw the beauty in the little things most people miss.He was a fine young man and left our world too early.Although he left us early this does not mean he is gone as those he loved so dearly will continue to hold him close to their hearts and cherish the memories they share together.May his spirit live on and watch over his loved ones.Rest in peace Rodney.

To all the family, I can feel the pain you are all going through all the way here in N.Ireland. My heart, soul, prayers and thoughts are with you all right now, I wish I could be there in person to offer my support but I can see how strong you all are being. May memories give you strength, may his spirit give you light and may family give you love. Rodney was a very talented and deep person and his memory will live on always with us all. xx
