Robert Hornett
August 19, 1923 - September 24, 2017
Tribute
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden and peaceful passing of Robert at the age of 94.
Robert served his country for four years in the Royal Canadian Air Force during WWII followed by 25 years of service with the RCMP in Saskatchewan.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife Ruth, son Gerry, grandson Richard and great grandson Garrett.
He is survived by his loving soul mate of 39 years Arlene, daughter Brenda Garrett (Howard) of Duncan, BC, daughter in-law Elly of Victoria, BC, sons Robert (Sherry) of Ponoka, AB and Dale (Kim) of Mackenzie, BC, step daughter Dawn Van den Berg (Pieter) of Prince George, BC, step sons Glen Smith (Carol) of Duncan, BC and Cory Smith of Lethbridge, AB. He had 19 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren with 2 more expected.
He had been an avid member of the Cowichan Golf Course for many years and he and Arlene had enjoyed many rounds with family and friends. Bob was fortunate to have traveled with his wife Arlene, to many places that included visiting their large family.
There will be a memorial tea on Saturday, September 30th, 2 – 4 pm, at the Cowichan Golf and Country Club.
