Richard Beveridge

July 4, 1949 - January 27, 2014

It is with shocking sadness that Sharron announces the unexpected death of her husband Rick, on January 27th 2014. Rick was predeceased by his father Gil and leaves behind Sharron, his daughters Terra (Paul) and Alicia (Mike), his three grandchildren Kaitlyn, Jonathan and Janie, his mother Irene (Bob), his brother Rand (Juanita) and his nieces Laurel (Mark) and Jessica (Scott).

Rick was born in Halifax July 4th 1949 and grew up in Victoria. He attended school in Ottawa and then joined the RCMP in 1969. He completed the duration of his RCMP service in ‘E’ Division and retired at 45 years of age. Throughout his retirement, he enjoyed motorcycling, RVing, skiing, scuba diving and sailing. Rick was a mentor to his friends and family, Sharron’s best friend, a hero to Terra and a buddy to Alicia.

Rick will be terribly missed by his family and many friends associated with the hobbies he enjoyed.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

Sharron know that we are thinking of you and the girls as this time. We all had such great times together. although we drifted apart these last few years you guys were always in our thoughts. We will always remember Rick standing tall down by the river saying “Cow-a-bunga Dudes” His zest for life inspired everyone he touched. Hugs to all, Judy and Lee.

I was sorry to read about your loss in the paper today. Sharron, as soon as I saw Richard’s obit, I remembered the time you guys went to the Mai Tai for dinner and were escorted to a huge table of people (named Beaveridge) who were having a private party, and you had planned an intimate dinner for 2. Thinking of you-still have a cream puff recipe you gave me, printed on one of the first home computers ever made, I’m sure. xo

Im still in shock and sadness at the loss of such a strong and great man. He will always be in our thoughts and hearts Sharron. If theres anything we can do please dont hesitate to ask. Rick reached out so many times to be such a fantastic neighbour and friend. I will always remember is dry wit and humor.
