Richard Alan Baird
Tribute
Richard, Rick, RB, or Ricky was born May 10, 1961, and passed peacefully (but way too soon) on August 23, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents Bernice and Danny Baird and is survived by his daughters Amanda and Natasha, his brothers Greg (Darcy) and Steve (Jody), his Grandchildren Willow and Calvin, and longtime friend Eric.
Rick spent his life cooking in various restaurants in both BC and Ontario, taking any chance to be golfing, biking; enjoying the great outdoors.
He was an easygoing, wandering soul at heart – always up for an adventure but perfectly content with a puff and the sights of mother nature’s backdrop. He was happiest in good company with good food and drink and good chat. His laugh was booming and infectious and will be missed.
The family wish to thank the doctors and nurses who cared for Richard, the friends and family that supported him, and the Cowichan Lake Hospice.
He will be missed by many and forgotten by none. Rick’s memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved him. We will never watch a game or bike a trail and not remember Rick, we’d like to believe he’ll be right there with us.
Rest easy dad, we love you, fly high

I have known RB since grade school. Many many memories. RB was one hell of a long-distance runner. We won the city finals in our final year in grade 8.RB finished in the top five with a cast on his arm. I also had the privilege of being RB’s roommate and then his neighbor for several years. I will always have good memories of RB you will be remembered.
