Tribute

On August 16th we lost a good man. One of a kind. Peter died in peace with family by his side.

Born in London Ontario, he was predeceased by his parents Margaret and Mike, siblings Ann Marie, Brian and Michael.

Missing him dearly after forty years of love, laughter and adventure is his most devoted fan and greatest love, Shirley.

Peter was a rock in the lives of those closest to him and will be forever missed by his loving children Peter Jr (Adriana) of Vancouver, Samantha of Duncan and Tyler of Lake Cowichan, as well as grandkids Riley, Malory, Scout and Raven.

Peter will be sadly missed by his brother Joe, sisters Eileen (Paul) and Trish of London, Ontario and Mary (Ross) of New Glasgow,   Nova Scotia along with Sisters-In-Law Ellen and Nina and many adoring nieces and nephews.

He was very entertaining. Peter   relished amusing kids and making sure they had fun things to do.  He loved singing and charmed many over the years with his Elvis songs.  It was no coincidence that the date he chose to leave this world was right for him.  He smiled, knowing that we would say ‘Elvis has left the building….’. An intelligent man who mastered many trades Peter loved a challenge.  There was nothing he couldn’t fix, never a job too hard, too dirty or complex – or a spare part he didn’t have.  His passion was working at the Lake Cowichan property – our labor of love.  He enjoyed working hard and having fun – he had a lot of both in his lifetime.

Peter was authentic, fair and unwavering and never afraid to speak his truth. A true man’s man. He was a generous spirit, a dedicated father and friend who will be missed by many.

Those we love don’t go away.

They walk beside us every day,

 Unseen, unheard, but always near.

Still loved, still missed and very dear.
