Tribute
In loving memory of our Mother, Nana, Gigi, sister, sister-in-law, Aunt, cousin and friend.
Our hearts are saddened to announce that Penny peacefully passed away after a courageous battle with cancer, in the comfort of her own home with her girls at her side and her family gathered together.
Penny was born and raised in Victoria, BC to John & Joan Smith. Predeceased by her parents, the love of her life Bob, brother-in-law’s Tom and Ty. Mom is survived by her girls: Kelly (Jim), Kari (Terry) grandchildren: Casey (Steven), Jessica (Randy), Makenna and Kadin great-grandchildren: Mylee, Carson, Myla, Maisy and Brynley. Sibling’s: Mike (Debbie), Debby (Mike) and Chris. Sister-in-laws: Robin (our amazing Angel) and Sharon, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and close friends.
Mom was a beautiful, kind hearted, strong, brave lady with a great humour, love for her family and friends like no other, a laugh that was contagious and a zest for life. She loved her long chats with friends and family, always up for a game or two, not many could win against her, she was just a little competitive! She was the matriarch of our family right till the end…her family was her world. Mom’s face would light up when she seen her grandkids and great-grandkids. She always enjoyed watching their sports/dance, cheering them on and could be heard saying what she thought on the play or call.
Our family would like to extend a Huge Thank You to the amazing nurses at Community Home Care Nursing, especially Cass and Maddy #1, as well as Dr. Bryan Bass, Nurse Sue and Dr. Andrea Wilhelm for going above and beyond for Mom in the last two months.
A Celebration of Penny’s life will be held at H.W Wallace on April 6, 2024 at 2pm
