MANN: Parkash Kaur
Words cannot express our sadness as we announce the sudden passing of Parkash Kaur Mann, our beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother. Mom was born in the village of Langeri, Punjab India, October 16, 1930. She arrived in Victoria, BC in 1951 then Mr and Mrs Bawa brought her to Duncan as a daughter-in-law. She resided in the Cowichan Valley for most of her years until her passing on March 11, 2019 in Duncan at the age of 88.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Santokh Singh Mann, her parents Basant Singh and Hukum Kaur Sangha, 4 sisters, 3 brothers, daughter in law Manjit and grandson Peter.
She will be missed by her loving family: Kelly (Chanden), Kippy, Jerry and Sheila (Gurmail). Mohinder (Dayl). Her beloved Grand Children: Vicky (Sarbjit), Late Peter (Jas), Jason (Harpreet), Shaun (Brooke), Erin (Harj), Rick (Jen), Dylan, Ashley (Barinder), Nicole (Richard), Ryan (Stefanie), Tina (Mitchel).
Her pride and joy the Great-Grandchildren: Kaden, Austin, Samiya, Diya, Jaiya, Olivia, Eva, Priya, Aven, Kyra, Jayla, Muniya, Savani, Landen, Manisha, Jasmine, Vikram, Kiran, Harjan and Jai.
She also leaves behind many special nieces, nephews and friends. Her “special daughters” Kulwinder and Sarbjit. Special thanks to Dr. Malerbe and Dr Swan for taking care of our Mother for all these years. Also, to Home Support for the daily care they gave. Thank you also to the Doctor and nurses in the Emergency ward at Cowichan District Hospital for making Mom’s last moments comfortable.
Through her kindness, wisdom, traditional values, gentle soul and generous heart, our Mother was the pillar that always guided and supported our family and others with unconditional love.
Parkash, with her sweet smile will be missed but never forgotten.
A Service will be held at H.W. Wallace Cremation and Burial Centre, 5285 Polkey Road, Duncan BC on Sunday March 17, 2019 at 12:00. Online condolences may be offered at www.hwwallacecbc.com

My phuji was a special lady, ever since I was a little boy, always enjoyed coming for a visit, always loved hearing her stories, and history lessons. She taught me a lot of life lessons. Will miss our visits, but you will always be remembered as our mom to everyone. Till we meet again, tell dad I miss him, pubiji, nancy, manjit also.

Grandma was strong, calm, happy, cheerful and enjoyed company. She would always try to help people and give the best advice to others. She would often say “Jinder, tu ayee mummy nu nal la k”
