Norman Russell Anderson

September 3, 1948 - September 18, 2022

Tribute

Norm to some, but Russ to family, passed away in his home on September 18, 2022. He was born in Medicine Hat Alberta and was predeceased by his parents Norman and Frances. He leaves behind one daughter, Sheri-Lynn Anderson, a sister Margaret Koch (nee Anderson) and a brother Jim F Anderson, nephews Tyler, Matt, Sam, Foster and nieces Shauneen and Frances as well as many cousins and friends.

Russ had a career with AGT, CanTel, BC Tel and Telus and retired in Cobble Hill BC to devote some time and travel to archery, his retirement obsession.

Russ was a singular person, living alone most of his life. His intense attitude toward his hobbies took him into white water kayaking, surf kayaking, and archery with many distinctions. He also enjoyed bowling, fishing and hunting. He was a crack shot and an energetic outdoorsman. When engaged in conversation, which was rare, he ably showed his intellectual side.

A gathering to remember Russ will be announced by family in due course.

H.W. Wallace Cremation & Burial Centre staff send our condolences to family and friends.

From: Fran Bailey
Relation: Niece

I will remember my Uncle Russ’s laugh. I only heard it once a year at my Dad’s Christmas Eve party and it was usually on the heels of something Margaret or Jim (his siblings) had said but it would fill up the room for a moment. I hope that you have found some peace.
With love from Fran Bailey (nee Anderson) and family Alex, Abby and Greyson.

From: Taleah Glennon
Relation: Neighbours

We live right behind Norms house. When I moved in he made a point to come and say hello. And for the past 6 years we talked every time we saw one another. I will miss our chats, you were truly a lovely person. RIP
