H.W. Wallace Cremation & Burial Centre staff send our condolences to family and friends.

From: Bruce Housser

So sorry to learn of Norm’s death. I worked with him at Shawnigan Lake School in the 70s and 80s. I don’t think it’s an exaggeration to say that without Norm Magee’s generosity, creativity and tireless work, the School might not have survived a difficult period in its history. I was on the Building Committee and Norm was the guy who made things happen, and made my job so much easier. He was always upbeat and happy – a pleasure to work with. I regret having lost contact with Norm – truly one of the good guys.

From: John and Sandy Sarsfield
Relation: I worked with Norm for many years at Shawnigan Lake School

It is with sadness that Sandy and I offer our deep condolences to the Magee family. Our thoughts are with you at this time.

From: Dave Dougan
Relation: I grew up in Shawnigan Lake, and Norm and Gloria's Low Cost Grocery was right across the intersection from the Garage and Service Station that was operated by my parents.

I was very sorry to hear of Norm’s passing. My condolences to Gloria, Graeme, Sherri and family. Norm was a great contributor to the building of the community of Shawnigan Lake, and was certainly someone that I looked up to while growing up in Shawnigan!

My thoughts are with all of you right now as we reflect on Norm and how he impacted all of us. For me Norm was such a big part of my childhood growing up in Shawnigan Lake with Graeme and all of our friends. Whether it was at the house, school, on the lake or riding our motorbikes – Norm was there for support to ensure we always had fun. He will be greatly missed.

From: Bernie Dinter
Relation: As a member of the Shawnigan community.

I have known Norm since he arrive at to work at Shawnigan Lake School. Our family crossed paths with Norm on many occasions from my mother being an employee of his to his managing the school grounds after my father left the school to me being his neighbour at lakeside Academy. We admired how he could move from one business to another in the true spirit of entrepreneurship. His giving to the many community organizations he was involved in, he helped move Shawnigan in a positive direction. Those of us who knew him will remember his many accomplishments.

From: Jeff Magee
Relation: My cousin

On behalf of my family, I would like to pass on our condolences.
On behalf of my other cousins, I would like to thank Norm for putting up with all of us. We were a curious mix of relatives, to say the least. It had to be difficult being the only sane cousin.
I have nothing but good memories of him.
Thanks Norm. Thanks Gloria.

Graeme, I have a team photo of your grandfather when he played for the Vancouver Meralomas. If you are interested in having it let me know.
